Rosevalley Lake is open
- Location: West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada
Went to Rosevalley Lake today. Located in West Kelowna. Lake has just turned over. Very little for bug hatches. No fish were rising today and only had 2 hits on chronomids. Fished from shore with a water bobber and white bead head black with red wire chronomids.
Fishing is slow now, but should get better with warmer weather next week. This should start the hatches and chronomids coming out of the bottom mud and surfacing to hatch.
It was 12c when I was there and sunny with a light wind from the southwest at 15km / hr.
Overall it was still a nice day for walk and just to get out to a lake that's not covered in Ice.
If you plan on going up to Rosevalley, be sure to take some bear spray,as they have just come out of hibernation and are hungry.
Above is a picture of part of Rosevalley lake from the north end looking south.
